CHEDDAR CHEESE BREAD LOAF
Makes: 1 loaf

cups flour 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese 4 teaspoons baking
powder 1 tablespoon sugar 3/4 teaspoon dried oregano 3/4 teaspoon
dry mustard 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 egg, beaten 1 cup milk 1
tablespoon butter, melted 6 green onions, finely chopped
Preheat
oven to 350 degrees. In bowl, stir together flour, cheese, baking powder,
sugar, oregano, mustard and salt. Combine egg, milk and butter; add to dry
ingredients along with onions, stirring until combined. Spread into greased
and floured 81/2- by 41/2-inch loaf pan. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until
tester inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool on rack for 10 minutes
before turning out of pan. Serve warm.
