LORNE COTTAGE ROLLS

2 teaspoons yeast
2 teaspoons sugar
1 cup lukewarm water
1/2 cup melted shortening
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
3 teaspoons salt
4 cups flour

In a mixing bow, dissolve yeast and sugar in water. Add shortening. In a mixing bowl, whisk sugar, eggs, salt and water. Add to the yeast mixture.
Gradually, add flour and beat in an electric mixer or knead by hand until dough is elastic and easy to handle.
Let rise in a greased bowl until doubled in bulk.
Punch dough down. Let rise 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Shape into buns, (3 small balls in greased muffin tins).
Let rise 1 hour. Bake in 350 F. oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
