GERMAN APPLE CAKE
serves 12
3 1/2
ounces butter 4 ounces sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup
flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 5 medium cooking apples
Preheat
oven 375 degrees. Butter and flour a spring form mold. Cream butter and
sugar. Add beaten eggs and vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder. Mix in
batter. Peel and core the apples. Cut in halves then make parallel
incisions on top of apple. Spoon batter into mold. Arrange apple halves on top
of batter. Bake for about an hour.
