MOTHER'S GUMDROP CAKE

cup butter, softened 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 2 1/4 cups flour, all
purpose 1/4 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon
vanilla 3/4 cup milk 3/4 cup raisins 1 pound gumdrops, chopped
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Butter and flour a 9x5 inch loaf
pan. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at the time and beat well. Sift
flour,salt and baking powder over raisins and candy. Mix well. Add vanilla
to milk then stir flour mixture into creamed butter and sugar mix alternating
with milk. Spoon mixture into pan no more than 3/4 full. Bake in the middle
of oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
