RICH BROWN SUGAR POUND CAKE
Serves about 8
1 cup butter (softened) 2 1/2 cups flour 1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder 1 3/4 cups light brown sugar 2 teaspoon
vanilla 4 eggs 1 cup sour cream Preheat oven to 325 degrees .
Very generously grease a 9 x 5 loaf pan with 2 tablespoons butter. Dust
with flour or white sugar. Sift together flour, salt and baking powder.
Beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy - about 3 to 4 minutes at
medium speed. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Beat in vanilla. Add sour cream and
flour mixture alternately, lightly blending just until mixed after each
addition. Turn batter into pan and bake 1 hour 20 minutes or until cake
tester comes out clean. Cool on rack for 10 minutes, then loosen edges and
turn out and cool completely. Drizzle with glaze while still warm.
