CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Makes 24


1 cup (2 sticks) soft butter
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs, beaten
2 1/4 cups flour (12ounces by weight)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups semi sweet chocolate
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In an electric mixer, cream butter, sugars and vanilla. Add eggs and beat for one minute at medium speed.
Combine flour, baking soda, salt. Gradually, add and mix into the creamed butter and sugar mixture.
Stir in the chocolate chips, and walnuts (optional).line cookie sheet with brown paper or a sheet of foil.
Using a small ice cream scoop, scoop* out equal amount of cookie mix unto lined baking sheet.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Slide paper off cookie sheet on a cool surface.
Let cool and store cookies in a container.

* another quick and efficient method is to pipe the cookies through a pastry bag without a tip in the end of bag.
