STUFFED
CABBAGE LEAVES

green cabbage 1/2 pound ground beef 1/2 pound ground pork 1 medium
onion, finely chopped 1 slice white bread soaked in 1/2 cup milk 1
teaspoon chopped parsley 1 egg salt and pepper to taste 2 cups beef
broth 2 cups tomato sauce
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook
cabbage in boiling water for 15 minutes. Drain; allow to cool and separate
leaves. In a large bowl, combine the beef, pork, onion, bread, parsley,
egg, salt and pepper to taste. Mix well. Stuff the cabbage leaves with
filling. Brown in oil. Place in a baking pan. Cover with beef broth.
Bake for about 1 1/2 hours or until cabbage is tender. Serve with hot
tomato sauce.
