slice white bread 1 tablespoon butter, melted 1 egg salt and pepper
to taste
Brush bread with melted butter on both sides and cut a hole
about 2 1/2 inches in diameter, in the center of each slice. Put the bread
in a large skillet over medium heat, break an egg into the hole, and cook until
done, turning once. You may also fry the cut out piece of bread at the same
time. This recipe is a children's favorite.
