Description: Le Pont dYeu
comes from a charming island of the coast of the Vendée. According to a
legend this island was at one time attached to the mainland by a bridge. The
cheeses form is a cone shape with a concave top and bottom. The rind is
sprinkled in wood ash. A Muscadet is an ideal wine with this cheese.
Texture: Its pate is thick
and granular. Taste: The
cheese has an iodine and salty taste which comes from grasses that are exposed
throughout the year to salty air of the sea. A refreshing and fortifying savor
