FLAKY PIE CRUST

Makes 2 pie-crust disks

This recipe makes enough dough for two crusts.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
    1 pinch salt
    1 tablespoon sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) cold butter, cut into pieces
    5 tablespoons cold water

Preparation

  • In a food processor, combine flour, salt, sugar,vanilla, butter and mix on pulse. Add water.
    Pulse to blend until dough becomes a ball. Do not overprocess.
    Wrap in plastic and chill for 20 minutes. Roll out and transfer to pie plate.
